I'd like to offer my condolences to Dave's wife, Alberta, to his children and grandchildren, and to the many other members of family and good friends I know that Dave had. As a UTA paratransit driver, I was only able to get to know Dave over the past few years because of his declining health, but he was an inspiration to me and to many others at UTA. Everyone loved Dave and felt it was an honor and privilege to serve him. Despite his suffering, Dave always had kind words to offer, gratitude for anything done for him, and had such a wonderful, warm sense of humor, even in the most dfficult circumstances. Dave was a teacher and friend to everyone he came in contact with. He showed us all how to live life with love, with courage, and with gratitude. We will all miss Dave's company, his wit and wisdom, and the great example of true grace in the face of adversity he was for us all.

Bill McKibben has done himself a great dicsrevise by swallowing the James Hansen is God garbage hook, line, and sinker. Bill has turned his burning desire for a Utopian climate where all his outdoor pursuits are steeped in perfect weather conditions into a mindless regurgitation of the attention seekers' endless prattle about the end of the world. The only person more impressed with Hansen than McKibben is Hansen himself.

My Dad instilled in all of his children the art of working hard. He gave from his heart. He loved cooking, there were no simple dishes, he cooked like he was cooking for a whole army! Any one who met him, instantly became a friend. I thought that it was endearing that he and his close friends, Dave and Johnnie Mae Martin would converse after their "stories" went off. God has a true angel! I love you Dad! You were my hero!
