Diane Burandt
July 2, 1954 - January 15, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diane Fountain Burandt, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. She peacefully departed this world on January 15, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.
Diane was born on July 2, 1954 in Sante Fe, New Mexico to Harold and Vi Fountain. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. Her life was a testament to love, determination, and strength.
She is survived by Frank Burandt, her devoted husband, and their children: Michael Burandt and Christine Burandt. Her legacy continues through her 6 grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.
Diane was known for her big personality and sharp wit. Some may even say she was spicy mustard! She was a talented cook and had a reputation for her amazing Cajun cuisine, all things Disney and loved the Suncrest community. She loved LSU football, golfing in St. George, Ut and swimming. She was devout catholic and 3rd order Carmelite. Whether it was participating in a church or work event, she approached life with a contagious enthusiasm that touched everyone around her.
In addition to her family, Diane leaves behind a circle of friends and extended family who will cherish the memories they shared. Her impact on the lives she touched will be remembered and celebrated for years to come.
In Loving Memory
I met Diane as she was pursuing her vocation as a Secular Carmelite. My prayers for her family and friends as they bear her loss. She was part of our Carmel of the Immaculate Heart of Mary of Salt Lake City, Utah, and we celebrate her passing to eternal life. May Our Blessed Virgin render comfort to her family. May she Rest in Peace. With Love to Jesus Through Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Connie Gallegos OCDS

I had the privilege of knowing and working with Diane Burandt over a period of nearly twenty-five years. In 1999 Holladay City was incorporated and I was elected as a member of its first City Council. Diane was the first employee hired by the new city, and she worked faithfully in overseeing the city's finances until her death. I have uploaded a picture of the city staff taken in about 2002 in the photo section. Later, I became Holladay's first judge, and for the next ten years saw Diane on a daily basis at City Hall, where we were both employed. In 2019 I was once again elected to the City Council and renewed my association with Diane. Diane was perpetually cheerful, dedicated to her work, and open and friendly with everyone she came in contact with. She preferred to work during off hours to help her focus, and the lights in her office window fronting 2300 East could be seen burning in the darkness. She was a devoted mother, and a deeply religious person. She made a big impact during her life and has left a great legacy. Best regards to her family. Dan Gibbons

I had the great privilege of knowing Diane. We worked together as co-education committee members for the Utah Association of Public Treasurers. She was such a fun person and you could always count on Diane for a laugh. She was so dedicated and loyal and if you were her friend, you were a friend for life. I spent many hours just talking with her and will always cherish those talks. As her daughter said she was "spicy mustard". My sincere condolences. I will miss Diane.

May our dear Lord welcome Dianne with his loving arms. Dianne was one of our first cousins. Our condolences go out to her children and grandchildren. When growing up in Santa Fe, NM we would see her when she would visit along with her parents. I would talk often to her later in life when I was helping with Dianne's parents. It was always nice visiting with her and talking about her children, who she always so proud of them. Our condolences and prayers go out to her family. Dianne's Aunt Virginia was so sad to hear of her passing and also sends her love. Prayers from Jon,Gina & Nicole Arsenault Virginia Gorman

I was deeply saddened when told about Diane's passing and will greatly miss her. My reflections spans beyond a decade. During this time I found Diane to be most caring, fun-loving, kind-hearted, and also dedicated to her family and profession. I enjoyed some of the wondeful dishes she shared at office gatherings. I consider Diane to be a wonderful friend who enriched my life. I will miss her dearly. Knowing how devout she was to her faith, I find some solace and comfort knowing that she is in the company of loved ones, angels, and saints. I hope her family finds some measure of peace from wonderful memories of her.

I knew Diane during the time she worked at the Terriberry law firm in New Orleans. She was always so pleasant to work with, upbeat and happy. She was the type of person that even after all these years stayed in touch with her friends/co-workers who always enjoyed her posts. We will be having a lunch on Sat. 1-27 to celebrate her life and share our memories. She will be dearly missed.

I worked with Diane at the City of Holladay for 16 years. Diane was someone I interacted with quite often and since retirement I've missed our regular chats about life, family, faith and our complaints about aches and pains. Many times we'd talk long after dark as we both worked odd hours. I will always treasure Diane for her expressions of tender love of her treasured children, pets, cooking and all things Disney. Diane cared deeply about doing a good job for the city and was proud to be the city's first employee when it was created in 1999. Diane was fun at heart and loved to laugh and for that reason alone she'll be sorely missed by all who knew her well. Prayers and condolences to her family. Paul Allred

I first got to know Diane several years ago through the Utah Association of Public Treasurers! She was a mentor to many treasurers over the years. I served on the board of UAPT with Diane. She was always so willing to help wherever she could. She enjoyed taking responsibility for planning the golf outing. I remember when she was the president and we held a board meeting at Holladay. She made Jambalaya and Kings Cake for us. I got the baby in the cake. Diane had the kindest heart! She always made everyone feel special! I loved her laugh and the sometimes inappropriate things she said. She had the an amazing sense of humor. I love you, Diane. I'll miss you! God be with you 'til we meet again! Sending prayers of comfort and peace to her family!

I was blessed to spend time with Diane over the years. We attended conferences, laughed, and enjoyed our time with good friends. She is one in a million, so loving and accepting, feisty, not afraid to share her opinion. We talked about her love for Cajun cuisine and she shared one of her awesome meal packets with me. I loved her love of Disney and just her zest of live. We shared a great love for dogs. I will miss just knowing she is here. Love you my cute friend!
