Diane Gale Trosper, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed peacefully in the early morning of February 22, 2017. She was 71 years old.
Born in Yakima, Washington, Diane grew up in the Tri-Cities area of Washington state. During her childhood, she excelled at dance, having participated in numerous dance exhibitions and recitals. She was a graduate of Richland High School (class of '64), Richland, Washington. Later, she joined the United States Navy and was extremely proud of her service to our country.
Having been a resident of the Salt Lake Valley since 1983, she held a variety of jobs ranging from cook to telephone operator. Most recently, she worked for Professional Transportation, Inc., transporting railroad crews across the western United States.
Diane is preceded in death by her father Homer E. Trosper and mother Welthey G.Trosper. She is survived by her daughter Weltha Gale Hickman and son in law Clint Hickman of Taylorsville, Utah; son Eugene "Gene" Trosper and daughter in law Shannon Black of Wildomar, California; granddaughter Jessica Foster, and great grandsons Ares, Orion, and Vladimir Foster, all of Gatesville, Texas; grandsons Warren Hickman of Lemoore, California, and Christian and Eli Hickman of Taylorsville, Utah.
Always ready to lend a helping hand to family, friends, neighbors, strangers, and animals, she frequently would sacrifice her own best interest for the needs of others. Her selflessness is an example for all and will never be forgotten.
Her family is deeply grateful for the staff of The Lodge hospice center in Salt Lake City for providing her comfort and care in her final days.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, February 27th from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. Interment to follow at 4:00 PM at Taylorsville Memorial Park Cemetery, 4575 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah.

Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your loved one, Diane. It breaks our hearts when death separates us from the ones we love so much. The Bible reminds us that God sees our pain and sorrow and has promised that soon. "death will be swallowed up forever."(Isaiah 25:8) He will heal our broken hearts by resurecting our precious loved ones to life again.(John 6:40) Until then, I hope the beautiful memories of Diane and these promises from God comfort you in the days to come.
