Dolores May Gianunzio Barr
July 8, 1929 - August 6, 2014
My wonderful wife, Dolores, was born July 8, 1929 in Iron Mountain, Michigan. She passed into a superior life on August 6, 2014 in Murray, UT. Dolores graduated from Boise High in 1947. She married Robert Barr, of Hailey, ID on Jan, 18,1953 giving her undivided love, companionship and help for over 61 years. She excelled in golf and bowling and enjoyed playing cards. During our years in Buhl, ID, she was active in the Order of Eastern Star serving as Worthy Matron in 1984. Dolores was a loving and caring mother to our two sons Patrick and Jay. She was a proud and loving grandmother to our three grandchildren. She rarely missed her sons or grandchildren's ball games and was an inspiring aunt to several nieces and nephews.
She wanted to thank all of the wonderful neighbors at Springhill for your support and prayers, the Heritage Senior Citizen craft class and our good friends and great times at the Cottonwood Country Club.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eleanor Gianunzio, sister Joyce Lenhardt and brother Bob Gianunzio. She is survived by her husband Robert, sons Patrick (Anne), Sandy, Utah, Jay (Beth Smith), LeSeuer, Minnesota and sister Charlotte Day, Boise, Idaho, grandchildren Drew, Allison (Allie) and Tanner Barr.
A "Celebration of Life" will be held at the home of Robert at the Springhill Condos, 5279 S. Springhouse Lane, Murray, Utah. It will be held on August 16, 2014, from 4:00-7:00pm. A private family interment will be at the Utah Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
A special thanks goes out to Good Shepherd Hospice for the wonderful care they gave our family. We're thankful for Shawnee, Lisa, Sonnie, Nichole, and Melissa for being there to help us through this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, if you so desire, please support Shriners Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City or your favorite charity.
In Loving Memory
What a delight and privilege it has been to know Dolores. We will both miss her smile , great sense of humor and the lady she was. To Bob and family, please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
