Don passed away peacefully on August 18th surrounded by his family. He was born on September 27th, 1931 to Madge and Glen Nielson in Salt Lake City, Utah. Graduated from West High School.
Don proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a Radio Controller for four years enabling him to travel to Italy, Spain and Portugal. He married Marion Linde in 1956 in Salt Lake City, together they had two daughters.
Don worked as a construction foreman building modular offices. He was a master builder with meticulous detail and a hard worker even through illness or injury. Don was very proud of the hours he spent working in his yard.
Survived by his wife of 57 years Marion; children Kathy Nielson and Stephanie (Dan) Carlson; “loves of his life” granddaughters Courtney (11) and Bailee (8). Preceded in death by his parents; brother Harvey; and sister Carol Greene.
A private graveside services will be held on Friday, August 23rd at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Thank you to everyone that has helped to care for dad over the past few years, including everyone from Brighton Hospice. To Mike and Amber thank you for treating dad as if he was your own.
