Donald James Aitken
April 5, 1960 - April 22, 2024
On the morning of April 22nd, 2024, Don Aitken was peacefully welcomed home by our Father in Heaven. Don had suffered many trials with his health since his heart attack in 2023, but he fought hard to stay in the lives of his children and grandchildren.
Don was born to loving parents on April 5th, 1960. His family included his five brothers, one sister, and five sisters-in-law. He loved each of them dearly. Don was a proud father and grandfather. He will continue to be loved and missed by his four children, their spouses, and his grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his parents, two older brothers, and his nephew.
Don grew up hiking and fishing at his family cabin, and spent a few summers with extended family. As an adult, he loved music, audiobooks, and playing games with his children and grandchildren. His family will treasure the memories of time spent playing Minecraft online and a favorite card game called “Lay Down” at family gatherings.
Don loved his Father in Heaven and Savior with all of his heart. He served a two year mission for his church in the Philippines. He always had a strong testimony and shared it often with his family and any who would listen. He continued to teach his grandchildren and children, despite his own adversity, until the very end.
Letting go is never easy. His family is so grateful for the time they had to share with him. He was loved more than he knew and will be missed more than he could ever imagine. This is not “Goodbye forever,” it is just “Until we meet again”.
At this time, no funeral services will be held. The family has opted to honor his wishes and celebrate his life privately.
In Loving Memory
