Donald Morrell
March 15, 1947 - April 7, 2023
Donald Franklin Morrell passed away April 7th, 2023.
Donald better known by family and friends as Don was born in Yonkers New York in 1947. Don served in the Vietnam war and moved to Salt Lake City in 1974. Don retired from the Utah State Prison in 2013 after 37 years as a correctional Lieutenant. Don loved good food and had an extensive movie collection. He loved to record movies and make DVD’S for family and friends. Don was a trekkie and loved cooking lasagna and spaghetti. Don was a very thoughtful and loving husband and father. He gave tough love but was always there in the beginning and the end whenever you needed him.
He leaves behind his heartbroken family: wife, Carolyn Crayton’Morrell, Sons: Donald F. Morrell, Jessie Griffin and Kenneth Morrell. Daughters: Sabora Morrell, Jada Morrell, Shanecka Crayton and Renee Crayton. A host of grand and great grandkids as well as niece Joanne Goodman and nephew Hugh K. Hogue.
Preceded in death by his parents and both siblings.
A funeral service will be on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church, 1090 South State Street. A viewing will be held one hour prior.
