Our beloved mother and wife to Marv, Doris “Dee” Mantyla passed away peacefully on October 31, 2014. She was born February 3, 1934 to Doris and Ralph Rutter in Placerville, California.
Mom was a homemaker, and avid reader of romance and mystery novels as well as an avid NASCAR fan. Anytime there was a race being televised you could find Dee and Marv, sitting in their recliners rooting for their favorite driver.
Mom is survived by her husband of 45 years, Marvin Ray Mantyla; six children, Donna (John) Gines of San Diego, California; Rhonda “PeeWee” (Lee) Nielsen of Salt Lake City, Utah; Ron “Butch” (Donna) Payne of Winslow, Arizona; Bill (Kathy) Payne of Farmington, Utah; Rod “Peanut” (Nancy) Payne of Salt Lake City, Utah; LeeAnn (Walt) Greco of Brighton, Colorado; one brother Dale (Marlene) Rutter of Meridian, Idaho; one sister Cathy Blake of Venice Beach, California, 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to recognize Judy Davis and Sherry Lindberg, Mom's dear friends and partners in crime.
A circle of life celebration and viewing will be held from 6 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at Stark Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City Utah.
In Loving Memory
Dear Marv and family, I want to express my sincere sympathy to each one of you. Dee was a part of my life ~ a blessing to me. She loved my family and friends as if they were her own. Dee always keep an eye out for me and took the extra time to make sure I was doing good. I will miss my friend, our visits and her loving smile. Love Sherry

Dear Marv, I am sorry for your loss. I know how much you mean to each other. Although we did not see a lot of each other, when we did get together it was always a pleasure to talk to Dee. Anyone could tell what a good and caring person she was. My thoughts are with you. Love Lisa
