Doris Yvonne Jones

Doris Y. Jones, age 75, passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 5, 2020 at home in West Valley City, UT. She was born September 1, 1944, in Salt Lake City, UT to Arthur and Donna Jones. Doris worked as a Bartender for most of her life. Doris truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures such as collecting anything of her favorite all time singer Elvis Presley, crocheting, watching WWE Wrestling, watching and rooting for her all-time favorite sports team the Utah Jazz, chatting with friends and family, spending time at the VFW, Doris was a big supporter of our US Military, snacking on her favorite foods such as Taco’s, Strawberry Ice Cream and having an ice cold Pepsi.

Doris is preceded in death by both of her parents Arthur and Donna Jones, Step Mother Delores Jones, Brother and Sister-in-Law Elvis & Kathy Jones and Sister Judy Boel.  Doris is survived by her siblings Linda (David), Grayce (Eric), Donna Jean (Dave), Arthur Jr., Ramona (George), Robert, Teresa, Ron (Donna), Scott, Steve, Andrew (Sheridan), and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and great great nieces and great great nephews. Also, by the daughter she never had Wendy (Dusty), also very dear friends Tim, Deacon Doug and Tom. The family would like to give a big thanks to her sister Linda, CNS Home Hospice, Grandma Kat and Carolyn for all the love and care of Doris for the last 10 years.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Doris touched are invited to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4501 W 5215 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84118, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2020, to reminisce, grieve, support each other, and chat. Immediately following will be a Vigil.   Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 11am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4501 W 5215 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84118 with graveside services at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 S Redwood Rd, West Jordan, UT 84123.  In Lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to help cover final funeral expenses.
