Dorothea L. Hardy

August 22, 1924 – June 5, 2012

Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed peacefully away on June 5, 2012, with family at her bedside. She will be remembered for her humor, kindness, generosity, and unconditional love. We will miss her.

Dorothea was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Women’s Organization. She donated time, goods and service where she and many of her lifetime friends laughed, enjoyed each others company and gave what they could to make life easier for those who needed help. She made beautiful quilts and won awards at the Utah State Fair where they were often displayed. One of her greatest gifts was her ability to make everyone feel wanted and accepted. She didn’t judge, criticize or condemn. She just loved.

Dorothea is survived by her children Jeanne Lund (Keith), Janis Orr (Will), Rick Olsen (Phyllis), Lori Sparks (Jeff), Sharon Harvey (Jeff Ashmead); many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Duane Hardy; and daughter La Nae Smith.

Friends may call upon the family at a wake from 6 to 8 pm on Sunday, June 10th at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City.  Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 11th at 11:00 am at Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Ave and “N’ Street, Salt Lake City.

Special thanks to Haven Health Care for their dedication and support through this difficult time.

In Loving Memory

So sorry to hear that Dorothea passed away. I remember well some of the things her and my mom did. They had some fun wild times. You were fortunate to have her around for such a long time. You will have many memories that will keep her in your hearts. Love, Kristin (Daybell) Wheeler

No snow on the ground yet Poopsie, tho it is liltey snowing as I post. We've been skating regularly and nobody's gone thru yet. There are 4 wheelers and fish houses out in the middle of the lake. I'll send Gage out tomorrow to check the strength of the ice and report back.
