Dorothy Bailey Baxter

The world became just a bit dimmer with the passing of our mom, Dorothy Baxter.

Sadly, on September 7, 2026 she passed away due to a fall.

Dorothy was born on December 16, 1939, in Wellsville, Utah to Tom and Carrie Bailey.

Mom married the best dad ever, Robert Baxter, on March 1, 1963. They moved to Salt Lake City right after the wedding to start their family. Soon came their three children, Wayne, Carolann, and Stephen that made their family complete. Finally, her favorite people in her world joined the family, her grandchildren.

Wayne and Erin had Milo. Carolann and Donnie had her namesake Bailey Bean and Aniston.

Mom and Dad shared 63 amazing years of marriage together, and where a shining example of love to everyone around them.

Mom came to absolutely every event her children ever had: softball, baseball, football, soccer, and dance performances. Then when her kids were grown, she attended EVERY event the grandkids had.

She helped Wayne and Stephen receive their Eagle Scout Award. I like to say SHE received 2 Eagle Scout awards. She was selfless and loving and supported us unconditionally throughout our lives.

She loved growing up in Wellsville with her brother Thomas and three sisters Larae, Carol, and Shirley.

She kept in touch with many of her childhood friends throughout her life, meeting together at Maddox every month for years.

We will be honoring her life Friday September 11, 2026 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that she loved so dearly. The church is located on 3070 East Nila Way (4140 South). Her viewing will start at 2:00 pm and Service at 3:00 pm. A Graveside Service will be held Saturday at 1:00 pm, September 12^th at the Wellsville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, take your mom to lunch and ask her the silly questions.
