Dorothy Morrison
July 3, 1929 - June 28, 2015
Dorothy, at age 85 entered her Lords presence on June 28, 2015 due to a long-term illness in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was born in Lexington, Kentucky in 1929 and is the eldest of six children.
She grew up in Ohio and in 1947 she met the love of her life, Carl Morrison. They were married for 40 years until he passed away in 1987. Dorothy, her husband Carl and their three children relocated and settled in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1960.
She loved traveling the world with friends and meeting new people. She had a passion for casinos and gaming. She would meet her two sisters in Las Vegas often for a girl’s weekend.
Dorothy was a self-taught gourmet chef and loved entertaining family and friends. She was published in the Salt Lake Tribune’s food section for her prize-winning recipes.
She was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing with a group of ladies. She belonged to a ladies social card club that she enjoyed immeasurably.
She loved life and was the life of the party where ever she went.
Dorothy was employed by the State of Utah for 36 years as the office manager of 35 computer programmers.
She is survived by a large family of loved ones. They consist of her daughters Pamela and Deitra and son Gregory; two sisters and one brother. She is also survived by three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Carl; her parents,;one brother and one sister.
Dorothy will be dearly missed by her family and friends. “We will always love you”
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 10 am, at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City.
