Douglas Alfred Barnes
April 25, 1966 - June 24, 2023
On June 24th, Douglas passed from our world in the embrace of his BABE! Courtney.
Douglas was born at Valley West Hospital, Granger, Utah – fifth in line of seven who filled a home bursting with love and commotion. He graduated from Cyprus High School as Senior Class President in 1984, then followed his heart and considerable talent on a course to becoming the quintessential and renowned master of his profession – freelance photography. His exploits and adventure in pursuit of the perfect picture would fill volumes of page-turners.
Douglas is survived by his lovely partner Courtney, her son Elijah, and siblings Gregory (Suk Jah), Bettina (George), Brenda, Bonnie (Pastor Andrew), and Leslie (Brendan). He was preceded in death by Gordon (father), Linda (mother), Richard (dad), Jeffrey (brother), and “Jack” (his loyal dog).
Douglas, you were the consummate teacher of all your passions. We will surely miss your dry sense of humor and your poignant candor. You were one of a kind.
Godspeed brother!
In Loving Memory
Doug was my best friend though high school. Before we started hanging out my junior year, I was involved with a group of guys up to no good. My GPA was abismal and I was deteriorating not only academically, but also socially and physically. Hanging out with Doug not only changed me academically, but it opened me up to a larger world. He was funny, smart and all about having adventures. For some reason, I looked up Doug on FB the day he died, not knowing until just minutes ago he had passed. Something in the ether must have made me aware. I regret we moved apart after school, but I will be eternally grateful for his friendship and the impact he had on my life.
