Douglas R. Nichols
December 27, 1933 - September 17, 2025
Douglas “Doug” Rowland Nichols passed away on Sept. 17, 2025, after an illness that developed over the past several months. He was 91 years old.
Doug, an entrepreneur who at one time ran his own business, spent many years in sales and retired from Convergys, where he worked in customer service.
An Oregon native, Doug also served as a city council member for the City of Pendleton. And he was an active member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Cottonwood Heights. His parish community was a big part of his life.
Sports also loomed large in Doug’s life, which included golf, flying his private plane he co-owned with friends, puttering around Puget Sound and Lake Washington on the family boat, camping, and hunting. He was also an avid skier, continuing to hit the slopes at Alta even when he turned 80 years old. And often undertook these activities with family and friends, who he held close to his heart.
Doug is survived by daughters Missy Corcoran and Pam Nichols and sons Andy and Jeff Nichols; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Escalante at Coventry nursing home in Cottonwood Heights, UT, who provided great care to Doug and his late wife, Sandy.
Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 1:00 pm at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 3015 East Creek Road, Cottonwood Heights. He will be laid to rest following mass at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, be considered.
In Loving Memory
Oh, Missy. I didn't realize that I know your folks. I've been at this Church since about 1995. Everyone knew your folks - they were lovely people. My heart goes out to you. I see you when you get your feet under you. xxoo

Missy, I am sorry to learn of Doug’s passing so soon after your mother. He and Sandy were good friends of ours at STM. We moved away in 2011 when we retired. Please know you and your family are in our prayers. Jane
