Douglas Shepherd Adams

February 18, 1952 - March 23, 2018

Our favorite cowboy started his new journey March 23, 2018 with his family at his side. Douglas…Doug…DooDoo…Dougie…Dooglaus… however you knew him there was no doubt that you loved him .  Whether on a horse in the mountains  on the beach in Puerto Vallarta or just hanging out at home with Jody and Lilly  ,  Doug always enjoyed life. Always there for everyone… Doug was full of life and life was full of Doug.

Doug cherished the love of his life and truly his soul mate, Jody. She was his best friend who never left his side and who will love and miss him always and of course Lilly (woof) too. Also with him to the very end he was blessed with his dearest daughter Elizabeath (Liz) and Brandon Mackay , grandchildren Hannah, Addie, Chance, and Lucky (Easton)  and his son Tyler Adams . They will all hold down the ranch for Doug while he's gone.  To watch over things in this life while Doug rides the trail ahead are his brothers and sisters   Stan Adams…Ann (Dee Bradshaw) ….Richard Adams (Susan) … Wendy Adams Mendenhall   and Kathy (Jeff Sidwell) .   With him on his next adventure are his parents Ramona and Wendell and his brothers Graig and John.   Special thanks and love to Livier who helped Doug through the last several months.

Never say "Goodbye"  just "SEE YOU LATER". "Happy trails to you our sweet Doug… until we all meet again" We love you .

Doug's Celebration Roundup will be held on Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Guests are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking on the north side of the building. Lets all eat drink and be merry for Doug! Western wear encouraged.

In Loving Memory

Doug will truly be missed by all of us. He was a great friend throughout the years. We shared a great love of horses and things western. He took care of me whenever I was in need and many times without even asking he would step up to make a difference. Happy Trails My Good Friend. Paul Beck

Doug had me laughing from the first time we met, and still when I saw him several months ago - and not just a chuckle, a rolling belly laugh that I will carry with me. I barely remember my vows, but I remember the vows he and Jody exchanged very clearly, "There are many reasons a man and woman get married... we have tried most of them!". You will be missed Doug and are part of a great generation!

My thoughts and prayers are with Doug's family at this most difficult time. It was my pleasure to know Doug through his employment at ZCMI (and I think I hired most of his family...and I love them all.) My heart hurts for the family and I know you will always have wonderful memories of Doug. Love, Jan
