Dr. Daniel Good
September 11, 1965 - June 21, 2012
Dr. Dan Good found rest in the arms of God on June 21, 2012. Dan was born sixth of seven children in Philadelphia. His family moved west to Wyoming when he was only 3 years old. Dan grew up in Lander and graduated from Lander Valley High School in 1983. He graduated from the University of Wyoming and Colorado State University, where he received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.
Dan always loved animals. He was the owner of Alcor Cresta Veterinary Hospital in Midvale, UT. Thousands of animal patients and their owners will miss him. He had seven of his own children, all cats who found their way into his hands through trials of their prior owners.
Dan loved his new home and garden and was enjoying time spent enlarging his gardens of flowers and vegetables, trees and unusual specimens of flowers. He also loved a good glass of red and shared wine and meals with friends and family frequently. This amazing, intellectual and humorous son, brother, uncle, and friend of many humans and animals, is at peace, finally.
Dan is survived by his loving parents, George and Helen Good. His sisters, Helen La Rose & husband Larry, Susan McOmie & husband Del, Dot Stefanich & husband, Jeff, Diane Olsen & husband Jeff, and Lisa Radke & husband Matt, and his big brother David Good & wife Karen, along with their treasured families know that he is watching over them, finally at peace. One of the most important parts of this man's legacy is his love for all his nieces and nephews. He was called 'Uncle Burp' by Leah, Annie, Mike, Christine, Megan, Becky, Matthew, Brittney, Katie, Nick, Alana, Danielle, Tom, A.J., & Nathan. Great nieces and nephews Matthew, Cody, Paco, Bronson, Avery and Clay will miss him too.
There will be a Celebration of Dan’s life at Wheeler Farm Pavilion and South Lawn, 6351 South 900 East, SLC, on Friday, June 29, 2012, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. under the direction of Starks Funeral Parlor. Friendly pets are welcome to attend, but must be on leashes. In lieu of flowers, the Good Family has requested donations be made to a Memorial Foundation at Mountain America Credit Union in the name of Dr. Dan Good
