Dwayne Jay Clark

July 1, 1984 - April 8, 2023

Dwayne Jay Clark, “DJ,” a loving, caring, adoring Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, and Cousin died suddenly from an apparent heart attack; he was only 38.  The loss and vacuum this leaves in our family will be felt for the rest of our lives.  DJ was born to Jacqueline and Dwayne Clark on July 1st 1984.  His parents soon after divorced and “Jackie” later married DJ’s stepdad, Jim Ritchie, in May of 1986.  He is preceded in death by his mother, who’d left this planet under similar circumstances in November 2013; like DJ, way too soon.  DJ leaves behind so many and hopefully we list everyone:  His beautiful wife, Shallon Clark; two children, Joshua and Teagan; three stepchildren, Tyson Dunn, Michael Flanders and Bailey Flanders; sisters, Amber Clark, Kirsten Ritchie, Lynee Ritchie; uncle to Gabriel Cook, Paige Britton, Preston Britton, Piper Britton, Baby J Ritchie, Savanna Ritchie, and Athena Ritchie.  Finally, a very proud father in, Jim Ritchie.

His soul was truly magical in so many of the lives he had touched.  He will be sorely missed; words alone cannot describe our loss.  A Celebration of Life will be held on April 15, 2023 from 6-8 PM, at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East.

In Loving Memory

Hi! I'm not sure if dj ever told you about me. At one point in our lives we were attached at the hip. It was a bit toxic we got into a lot of trouble. But we were brothers and I never stopped thinking and wondering how he was. He was with me on the night that I got arrested. An incident that I received 40 years and n prison for. I did 22 of it and got out in nov. we spoke a bit not too long back. I'm so sorry for your loss. Terrible. It's unbelievable really. My warmest to his children. Once again I am so sorry

I am so sadddened to hear of your tragic loss.  There are no words to sooth your soul which I am sure is shattered in a million pieces.  No parent should outlive their child.  My prayers go out to you.  And if there were to be any comfort in any form, know he is with his mom where they both dwell with the most high...  God bless you my little brother... k
