Earl Maxwell Bay

March 6, 1927 - January 22, 2018

Bud passed away on January 22, 2018 surrounded by his family.

He was born on March 6, 1927 in Cedar City, UT to Lola Maxwell and H. Earl Bay. Childhood in Junction, Utah. Siblings: Helen (Frank) Gibbons, Bernice (Ken) Glad, Mary (Bob) Ellis, Elvon (Janell), Paul (Joan), Phil (Joyce) and Bette Jo.

Married Betty Park on December 14, 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple. Children: Rebecca (Carl) Willoughby, Kevin (Dee Dee), Richard (Eva), Carrie (Val) Call, Jonathan, Thomas (Deborah); 24 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

His greatest love is for his dear wife and family, his Savior, and his many friends. He enjoyed many hiking adventures and other trips with Betty, children and grandchildren. Lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as best he could in many callings. Served in the US Navy 1944-1946 and 1947-1949 in the Eastern States Mission. Graduated from West High School and University of Utah in Civil Engineering. Worked for Alcoa Aluminum in Los Angeles, the Utah Division of Water Resources and 32 years for the US Bureau of Reclamation, including a two year assignment in the Philippines. His mortal life on this beautiful earth has been a "great adventure," as will be his new life in the spirit world.

His mark is left on every family members' home and soul. He will live forever in the hearts of many others.

Funeral will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the LDS Chapel located at 4350 South 1100 East, Salt Lake City. There will be no viewing. Interment to follow at Elysian Burial Gardens

He led a long remarkable life, and he always appeared humble and attentive for us at Water Resources. He was a great friend to all of us, with a big smile daily. We sure missed him when he retired but were sure he was accomplishing other great things in life. Till we meet again, Bud, God speed.

The inside of Bud's garage was just like his life. Perfect, clean and flawless. There was not a single person who did not like him. He had a perfect love and concern for everyone. We love you Betty and family.
