Eddie E. Springer
January 4, 1929 - March 16, 2022
Taylorsville, UT – Eddie Eugene Springer passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, March 16, 2022.
Born January 4, 1929 to Lee Roy Springer and Juanita Duran Springer in Las Vegas, NM. Upon Juanita’s death, Lee Roy married Esther and their combined family totaled ten children: Lee, Eddie, Jayne, Janet, Judy, Juanita, David, Jackie, Scheril and Carolyn.
Eddie joined the United States Navy at the early age of 15, serving in World War II on the U.S.S Nevada for three years with honorable discharge. He later became a professional long-haul truck driver, retiring from Stone Container at the age of 72.
Eddie married Beverly Tolman in 1948. They had three children, Max, Lorraine and Marty. Divorced. Married Marian Atkinson. They had two children, Mark and Lori. Divorced. Married Josephine (Jo) Pacheco in 1990. Jo was the love of his life, with whom he would spend the rest of his days. The love and commitment they showed one another was unbreakable and unconditional. Eddie gave his time and energy to making sure Jo was always taken care of, always putting her first, and never expecting anything in return. His love for her was endless. He was so loved by Jo’s kids, Rick, Vera, Ken and Monica – he was truly a “Dad” to them.
Eddie was a true man of integrity, a man of service, and a man of great faith in God. He began service in the Knights of Columbus at St. Francis Xavier Church in 2003, and was honored as the 2012-2013 “Knight of the Year.” His volunteer service in the church included food service, ushering, collection of offerings and bereavement services. He was well respected and loved by all in his church and was always making a new friend.
Family and friends will remember him for his smile and jokes that he would share with anyone who would listen (and laugh.) He was kind, intelligent, and giving, and he made everyone feel welcome and accepted as one of “his friends.” Eddie will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Jo; brother, half-sisters and half-brother; sons Max (Judy) Springer, Marty (Kris) Springer; Mark (Kim) Springer, Lori (Kip) Day; stepchildren; Rick Owen, Vera (Randy) Archuleta, step daughter-in-law (Brenda) Owen, Monica (TK) Owen. Their combined families gave them numerous beautiful grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents, half-sisters; Jackie, Scheril and Carolyn, daughter Lorraine and stepson Ken, grandsons Mathew, David and Jesse.

It's so hard to believe that Uncle Eddie is no longer with us. I will always remember his sense of humor, laugh, and love of baseball. I remember the tv would be tuned into baseball whenever I would visit he and Jo when the World Series was going on. He and his older brother, Lee, (my Dad) always stayed in touch with each other regardless of the physical distance that separated them. Uncle Eddie called Dad to wish him 'Happy Birthday' when Dad turned 95 this past February. I was able to talk with Uncle Eddie and listen to how his new hearing aids weren't helping him much. It was an interesting phone call as neither of them could really hear each other very well but it didn't stop the love from coming through that they had for each other. Uncle Eddie, I bid you farewell and am happy to know there's one more member of the family watching over us. Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers are with all of the family. Torrie and Jim

We were so blessed to meet Eddie and Jo many years ago at St Frances Xavier Church. They have been amazing friends. Eddie was always thinking of Jo and her needs. He was an incredible man. We always enjoyed visiting with them at church functions. All our prayers go to Jo and family at this time of sadness and loss. Eddie is absolutely going to a better place. RIP Eddie. You are loved and will be missed!!
