Edna Anderson
November 8, 1927 - December 3, 2015
Edna Anderson, 88, passed away Dec 3, 2015 in Salt Lake City.
Born Nov 8, 1927 in Magna, Utah to Andrew Marion and Alice May Rolfe Anderson. She spent her life in service and support of her family, never marrying and caring for her parents along with her sister Marian, while she worked at the SL County Assessor's Office. Before and after retirement, Edna and Marian found time to travel the world and donate countless hours to help children and brighten others' lives by making and donating hundreds of quilts. They became many children's favorite aunts/surrogate grandmothers. Edna was a fiercely independent woman who was proud of her pioneer heritage and was the family historian and record keeper.
Survived by her sister Marian; brother in law Philip A. Lavorgna; three nieces; and two nephews. A special thank you to Millcreek Home Health Services for their extraordinary concern and commitment to Edna and Marian. In lieu of flowers please donate to a children's charity or to a child in need.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, December 7th, 2015 from 6PM to 8PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, SLC, UT. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 8th, 2015 at 10AM at Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, UT.
