Edward V. Nielsen

Edward (Ted) was born May 26, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Boyd L. Nielsen and Wanda Alice Stone Nielsen. He passed away January 10, 2014 from declining health with family members present. He spent his early childhood in Scipio, Utah and many summers thereafter. He loved camping in Maple Grove with family and friends. Edward married Kathy Boel and had three children. Teddi, Sonia, and Beau. They later divorced. Edward married his sweetheart Kathy Martinez and enjoyed several happy years before her passing. Ted’s interests included bowling, horses, Triple Crown races and his favorite football team the Vikings.

Survived by his children Teddi Creer (Dave), Sonia Leach (John), and Beau Nielsen (Lori) and five grandchildren Dakoda, Kyle, Haily, Destinee and Thomas; his brother Byron Nielsen (Connie); his sisters Gwen Symes, Kathy Miyamoto and Irene Burkholder (Paul); and many loving nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Harry Miyamoto; sister Coralie Price; brothers-in-law Gerald Price and Herbert Symes.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, January 14 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 4^th Avenue “T” Street, Salt Lake City. Viewing will be held the same day from 9:30-10:30am at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City.
