Edwin A. Peterson

1925 – 2011

Edwin A. Peterson passed away on August 22nd, 2011 at Jordan Valley Hospital at the age of 85.  He was born on September 4th, 1925 to Ida Nyborg and Carl Edwin Peterson in Bingham Canyon, Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended Granite High School as a young lad and left to join the Navy. He was a Master Electrician in the United States Navy and served our Country in World War II.

On July 30, 1955, he married the love of his life Janie Hoare. They were married in St. Patrick's Church. Through this union they had four children, Russell Eddie Peterson, Kelly Carl Peterson, Melonie Jane Peterson Curtis (Dave), Cindy Lou Peterson Holt (Rick). He had 13 grandchildren Tiphanie, David, Trevor, Brandi, Michael (Ashley), Sean, Kellie, Shannon, Brendan, Leesa, Angelica and Ian.

He spent his life working in construction, was the State Building Inspector and was a successful business owner of Peterson Planning where he designed homes, office buildings and restaurants. He was a man of many talents and skills.

Our dad was a man you could look up to and go to for advice. He was our "Hero".

Edwin is survived by his children; grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved Tara who he spoiled.

Edwin was preceded in death by his wife; parents; his brother Leonard and his wife Myra; sister Edith and her husband Barney; Brother Carl; sister Betty and his beloved dog Shasta. He has now reunited with all his loved ones who have left this earth.

A wake will be held in his honor at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East on Friday, August 26th from 7:30 until 9:30 p.m. He will be laid to rest on Saturday at Mount Calvary Cemetery next to his beloved wife Janie.

The family would like to show appreciation and thanks to CareSource, nurse Rhonda, CNA Regina for their tender loving care.  We would also like to thank his many friends at Marie Calendars who made it his second home.

In Loving Memory

I loved you and I will miss you. I am sorry that you had to live in so much pain. You did not deserve the way things have been the last few years. I wish that I had gotten the chance to say good bye. I hope you know that I loved you too.
