Edwin Solak
November 26, 1922 - May 8, 2024
Edwin Solak passed on to the Lord on May 8, 2024 at the age of 101.
He was born in Massachusetts in November of 1922. The family relocated to Michigan. Edwin served as a paratrooper in WWII, participating in several campaigns in North Africa and Europe. After the war, he met and married the love of his life and they had two children. They lived in Michigan until retirement. While in Michigan, he enjoyed fishing, and we had many fun fishing trips together. After retirement, they moved to Florida, where he discovered and embraced the game of golf.
Edwin was a loving husband and father. Despite working the midnight shift at times, he always found time for his family. Edwin’s example of love and respect his family was an inspiration to all. He is, and will be, greatly missed.
His is survived by his son, daughter in law, and two grandchildren, and is preceded in death by his wife and daughter. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Friday, May 17, 2024 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 3015 East Creek Road, Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
