Elbert Haskell Woodbury
Elbert Haskell Woodbury known by his friends as "Tuck" died on December 31, 2012 from complications from surgery and COPD. He left this life peacefully and surrounded by his loved ones.
Tuck was born on February 9, 1927 to Harrison & Esther Woodbury, one of nine children. He grew up in Granger, attended Granite High School, and ran a concrete and construction business. Tuck knew how to grow things and eventually made his home in Meadow, Utah where he and his son Kirk worked very hard together on their farm.
Tuck enjoyed woodworking (building his own homes, cabinets, and furniture), gardening, eating a really good tomato, and watching a Jazz game. He loved to dance and listen to music. He looked forward to a game of pool or cards with his buddies and rarely missed his daily game of Chinese checkers with Miss Fae, his companion for 31 years. Tuck had a soft spot for animals, especially Flopsy and Cat. He was fortunate to get to know his two grandsons over the last few years and he loved when they came to visit Grandpa Tuck.
Tuck is survived by his son Kirk (Kris); his daughter Lori (Scott) from his marriage to Zelma Pearce Woodbury; his two grandsons, Miles Mercer and Gavin Mercer; his sisters Allie (Ray Ross) and Arlene; and his long-time companion Fae Snyder. He is preceded in death by siblings Marjorie, Ruth, Leo, Velma, Dorothy, and Duane.
The family invites friends to join them on Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, Utah.
An open house will be arranged in Meadow at a future date.
The family would like to thank hospice in Millard County for their care and compassion. Kirk and Lori would like to give special thanks and gratitude for all the joy, love, and care Miss Fae shared with their Dad.
We will miss you Tuck.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to a favorite charity.
In Loving Memory
After reading about Tuck's love for pool, now I know where Lori got her knack for playing pool. Thinking about your family and knowing that Tuck is smiling down on those he loved and who loved him.

Dear Aunt Zel, Kirk, Lori, and loved ones, Bill and I send love and prayers of comfort at Tuck's passing. One of my first memories of him is Tuck taking us waterskiing. My folks loved him mom thought he had rugged gook-looks, my dad often said, ?Tuck is a smart, hardworking man's man.? I have many fun memories of barbeques in our back-yard, Tuck laughing at our crazy, family antics, yet always the quiet guy. He was deeply proud of Kirk and Lori; his family . . . worth its weight in gold. So glad he has had time with his darling grandsons. Whenever we drive up I-15, Bill and I have thought many times that we should stop and say ?Hi.? I love the pictures you used in the obituary, they bring back memories and show Tuck as both handsome and a character. He was always sweet and respectful to me. Tuck made me feel special. We all have to smile as we all think of him and those we love on the other side, having the barbeque of all barbeques! Love and prayers to you all, Candy and Bill Fowler, St. George, Utah
