Ellen Sue Clark

July 14, 1916 - February 16, 2009

Ellen Sue Clark

On the early morning of February 16th, 2009 Sue went to dance with her husband David in Heaven.  She was born July 14, 1916 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Cora Mae and Alexander McKenzie.  She married David Milton Clark on October 15th, 1937.  Over the years Sue lived in Georgia, Oregon and finally Salt Lake City.  When Sue was young she was a dancer and a PTA President who enjoyed her 3 daughters’ company.  In the last couple of years she became a true pool shark, getting a two in one shot.

Sue was a giving and caring woman who looked out for others and was always there when you needed her.  She was a #1 grandma who always put her grandkids first and enjoyed spoiling them.  She was a wonderful mother and a true gift from God.

She is survived by her three daughters Elizabeth Anne Laing, Mary Catherine Cirillo of Bend, OR, and Judith Sue Martin; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren; and many friends at Friendship Manor, especially “Cody” Monsen.

Preceded in death by her husband; parents; and six siblings.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 20th from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City.  A graveside service to follow at 11:00 AM at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South, Salt Lake City.

In Loving Memory

Judy and family, I am sorry for your loss.. I hope you find comfort in knowing that there are many friends out here who know how special your mom was to you and how you all took time to care for her. That devotion alone gave her the comfort to know you will all be okay and she will be looking over you; helping you through the rough time ahead. You are in my thoughts and prayers...
