Eric Mathew Wolff
August 11, 1978 - October 4, 2024
Our beloved son, father, brother, and friend passed away Oct 4, 2024 at Riverton Hospital after a courageous 6 year battle with multiple health issues and set-backs. His body simply could not take any more.
Eric was born on Aug 11, 1978 to Stephen and Patricia Wolff. He was raised in West Valley City until the family moved to Taylorsville. Eric attended Taylorsville High School where he loved participating in the swim and dive team. He graduated in 1997.
Eric was such a loving man and was always concerned for others. He could make everyone laugh with his wit and sense of humor. He loved football, particularly the 49ers and then included the Steelers after his dad passed away in 2019. They always rooted for each other’s team and football was never the same without his dad. He loved music, golfing, and was a talented photographer. He made a mean pasta and even better German pancakes. Eric was OBSESSED with the color yellow…the brighter, the better!
What Eric cherished above anything else were his 2 boys Daniel (20) and Isaac (16). They were his everything, and he loved every second with them. They all enjoyed a good UNO match when they came to visit. All he ever wanted was to be their dad and spend more time with them.
He is preceded in death by his dad (Stephen Wolff), grandparents “Mema & Poppy” (Martha and Manny Rojas), Uncle Dan (Rojas), and many other family members.
He leaves behind his sons (Daniel and Isaac Wolff), mother (Patricia Wolff-Gamangasso), step-father (Brent Gamangasso), sister (Stephanie Rasmussen) and niece (Trishalynn McDaniel and family) and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. We promise to be strong because that’s what you would want.
You sent a quote to the boys that sums it up…”I miss you. A little too much, a little too often, and a little more every day.” Until we meet again, enjoy fishing and football with dad, Mema’s tortillas, Poppy’s jokes, and Uncle Dan’s pranks.
We give thanks to the countless doctors, nurses, and staff who were a part of Eric’s medical care. You’re all angels. To the liver donor and family who lost his/her life and gave us another year with Eric. Words can’t convey our gratitude. God bless you!
Please join us in a celebration of Eric’s life on October 16 from 6-8 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Guests are encouraged to use parking and entrance located on the north side of the building.

There is a Ram Dass quote that has stuck with me. “Death is absolutely safe. It’s like taking off a tight shoe”. Dear cousin, enjoy kicking your feet up while Bandit licks your toes in your flip-flops. You’ve earned it. Say hello to your incredible dad Steve, and Grandma Leila who adored you and your family.

Pat and Steph-- My heart rejoiced when I heard Eric got a liver last year and it broke when I heard about his passing. It was a privilege to take care of him last year, and I'm so happy you got another year with him. I think of him when I drive past the area seeing other patients. He couldn't have asked for a more devoted sister or mother. You are all beautiful people.
