Esther M. Martinez
May 14, 1955 - August 1, 2021
Esther, our beloved mother, mom-mom, sister, aunt, Godmother, and friend, returned to heaven surrounded by her family on August 1, 2021.
She was born May 14, 1955, to J. D. Gaylord Johnson and Marie Johnson in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Esther was baptized at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where she attended Rosary Makers, helped with altar linen and attended mass. She also attended the Cathedral of the Madeline and St. Catherine of Siena.
Esther loved to look her best, never missing her tanning and nail appointments. She was an Army Veteran and part of a Disabled Veterans Group, where she was able to go on many adventures.
Esther was welcomed into heaven by her parents and grandson Anthony.
Esther is survived by her 4 children Julian Brailsford, Aimee Richmond (Jim), Jessica Fuentes (Julio), Sara Silva (Jose), Sister Marilyn Martinez and Brother Mike Johnson.
Esther had 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren who called her mom-mom. She had many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones who will miss her dearly.
Thank you to all those friends who have helped Esther through out her life, Annette for being there all these years and Graciela and Isaac for making her last days special. A special thanks to Ann Workman, for always making sure mom got to church and for everything you have done for her.
Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 12:00 pm at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 300 Kimballs Lane, Draper. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 11:30 am prior to Mass. Esther will be laid to rest following Mass at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 S. Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale. Her family would like to invite everyone to join them at the church for a luncheon after the graveside service.
