Eugene Wilson III

November 9, 1946 - August 31, 2013

Gene Wilson, beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, went home to Our Creator, The Great I Am, his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday August 31, 2013.

Born in Mansfield, Louisiana in 1946 to Eugene and Sarah Wilson, he was raised in Houston, Texas. He entered the U.S. Army in 1969. After serving in Vietnam and being honorably discharged from the Army, he joined the Marines.  He worked for Western Pacific Railroad in Stockton, CA, later to be Union Pacific Railroad, which led him to Salt Lake City. He lived in Salt Lake for 30 years. It was there that he met his wife and soul mate, Dawn Wilson in 2000. Gene and Dawn married in 2004 and loved each other dearly. Gene became a bounty hunter in 2001, and was active in the bail enforcement community in Utah as Night Hawk Fugitive Recovery Services, LLC. He moved to Lake Havasu, Arizona in October 2012 where he finally got out of the cold! He loved spending time with his family, especially his special sidekicks Jasmine and Isaiah Wilson, grandchildren. He enjoyed football (Dallas Cowboys and LSU were his favorite teams), fishing, hunting, BBQing, and cooking Cajun food as well as collecting guns, cowboy hats, boots and belt buckles. He loved to take his boys shooting, and those are memories they will always treasure. He had a smile that lit up the world and a laugh we will never forget. Gene will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Eugene Wilson Jr. and Sarah J. Wilson, and sister Betty Wilson Jones and step-son Noldon "Nokie" Edmond. He is survived by his wife Dawn, brother James L Wilson of Ingelwood CA, sisters Rosie L Wilson of Ingelwood CA, Idora Wilson Stringer of Lancaster CA, Rosie Wilson-Burnett of Rosamond CA and brother in-law Harry B Burnett, children Eugene Joseph of Houston TX, Keymon Renee Brownfield of Stockton CA, Wayland Brownfield of Salt Lake City UT and wife Mele, Edmond Wilson of Stockton CA and wife Debbie, Marcus Wilson of Kearns UT and wife Jessica, and Dominique Wilson of Salt Lake City UT as well as a host of step-children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

A traditional wake will be held on Monday 9/9/13, 6-8pm, at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 S 900 East, Salt Lake City, where complimentary valet parking is provided on the north.  Funeral service will be held on Tuesday 9/10/13, 11am, at The Fellowship, 615 E.
