December 17, 1968 - November 4, 2021
Our beautiful, loving, crazy mother, daughter, nana, sister, cousin, niece and aunt passed away peacefully November 4, 2021 at 10:00 am surrounded by her loved ones.
Eva was born in Salt Lake City, Utah December 17th 1968. She was raised by her parents Linda and Delfino Valdez. Later in life she created a special bond and relationship with Walter (Yvonne) Manzanares.
She is survived by her daughters Dana and Demi; grandchildren Marcyanna, Messiah, and Ezrah; siblings Shane Joe Valdez, Shawna Soliz (Victor Soliz), Shannon Valdez (Matthew Lucas) and Sean Armijo;Sisters of her heart Christine Lettig-Trujillo, Brenda Kelly, Michelle Manzanares and Kim Manzanares-DeBartolome.
She was a niece to numerous aunts and uncles, Godmother to Nico Soliz and crazy Auntie Eva to all her nieces and nephews.
She will be deeply missed by her stink: Brody, her beloved yorkie, and Boris the tortoise.
Preceded in death by the love of her life Andy Candelaria.
Grandparents: Eva Ochoa and Manuel Lovato, Eloisa and Delfino Valdez Sr.
Eva was known for her big heart, generosity and her special sense of humor. She was the hostess with the mostess and queen of clean. There wasn't a single time she turned down a sleepover for her grandkids and all her nieces and nephews. Her house was the place all the kids wanted to be at. We will miss everything about her and this void will never be filled, but we know she will always watch over and take care of us because that's just who she was.
The family would like to thank the University of Utah Hospital for treating Eva so amazing and offering the care she deserved in her time there.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, November 12 from 10:30 – 11:30 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1058 West 400 South, Salt Lake City, where Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 11:30. In Loving Memory
Words can not express how much my heart hurts right now and just how much I'm going to miss her. Over 40 years ago we became friends and our hearts connected and made us sisters. Sisters that shared everything with each other, we were there for each other through each of our ups and downs, through each of our life changes and life events, we cried together, fought with each (as sisters do) but always made up, we gossiped (about everyone lol) she loved gossip! But mostly we laughed! And we laughed! We new each other inside and out and always told each other "I love you". My beautiful sister, I don't know what I'm going to do without you. I am so very grateful for the time we did have together and I am grateful to know you are no longer suffering and have been reunited with Andy and grama and grampa. Thank you Eva, for your love, thank you for your friendship and thank you for always making me laugh. As we used to end our calls, " I love you more".

My beautiful Aunty, I love you so much and I will miss you for the rest of my life. My heart is broken right now, and I can't believe you're gone. Growing up you were like a second mom to me. You were there for all of my accomplishments and my screw-ups, and no matter what was going on in my life, you were always someone I could turn to. I could call you any time of day or night and you never turned your back on me. I always knew I had a shoulder to cry on when I needed it most. We shared so many laughs together, tears, and such a special bond that I will cherish forever. You always made it a point to make sure I knew how much you loved me. I have so many memories of you. Thank you for always loving me and I will forever love you. Until we meet again, I know you'll be watching over all of us.

So sorry for your loss, Eva I am so going to miss you, your phone calls it was like you knew I was having a hard day, and at the end of our conversation I forgot what was bothering me, my favorite talk with you was when we would talk about how much your dad meant to you and my dad meant to me and how blessed we are to have them. When you heard that I couldn't Walk you came with your dad to see me and brought me a walker so that I could get around I am so blessed to have had you for my cousin, thank you for being there for me. I love you and will miss you. God shared you with us and now he has called you home.

Valdez Family "I'm sorry for your loss". She loved you all very much. You are in my thoughts and prayers. The video tribute is very nice. It stirred alot of fond memories of Eva that I have from my teen years. It was a pleasure to know that our daughters met during their teen years and became friends. I had the opportunity to reunite with Eva again a few years ago. I'm so glad for the last smile, hug and chat we shared. Luwanna Fitzgerald
