F. Michael Kibbie

October 26, 1948 - October 28, 2014

F. Michael Kibbie
"Mike"
10/26/48 – 10/28/14

On Tuesday, October 28, 2014, the world lost one of the good guys. Frederick Michael "Mike" Kibbie lost his battle with cancer, at home surrounded by his family.

A graduate of Highland High School, he then went on to earn his degree from Wyoming University. Although a graduate of Wyoming University, his blood ran red for the University of Utah.

A man of few words, he was a man of great actions. A businessman, sportsman, and incredible family man, he loved antique cars, old coins, and his three greatest passions were his granddaughters and his home in Alpine, Wyoming, and his beautiful bride of 45 years. He truly loved his friends and children, and cherished the time he was able to spend with them.

He had the energy of three men, which he put to good use running his own companies and his career in the power line field.

His goal was to see the world, we got started, but we won't get to finish.

Mike is survived by his wife Carla; son Patrick; daughter Jennifer (Shon) Hiatt; granddaughters Carlie and Micah; sisters Carolyn Benson, Kathy Cutler; and the "other" son Jerome Davis. Mike is also survived by his many other family members and friends too numerous to count.

A wake will be held in his honor Monday, November 3rd, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East. Complimentary valet parking will be provided on the north side of the building.

In lieu of flowers, Mike would have appreciated donations be made to the University of Utah Burn Camp Programs, 50 North Medical Drive, Salt Lake City, UT 84132. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.starksfuneral.com

Christine and I were honored to have Mike as a friend and neighbor. We are also grateful for Mike's leadership, and entrepreneurism as the developer who made our dream home on a hillside a reality. He was a true visionary, and a man of his word. A class act all the way, we will always remember Mike driving a golf cart or ATV up and down our hilly roads with his family next to him on the seats. Rest in peace, Mike, we will never forget you.

Toot - I was so saddened to hear about Mike. We met when I worked at Project Analysts and I just loved hearing his voice on the other end of the line. Thank you for letting me be part of your tailgating group -- all those many years ago. Prayers for you and your family.

Toot, Jenny, Pat, Shon, Carlie & Micah - Losing Mike was huge. He was not only my brother but one of our best friends. How do you say goodbye to someone you love as much as we loved Mike. This will leave a huge emptiness in our lives and all of yours. How lucky are we that we have great memories of many times spent together that hopefully will help us through the years to come. Just know that Craig and I will always be there for all of you for anything you need...a hug, a kiss, a listening ear and lots of compassion and love. Mikey's Celebration of Life was awesome. He would have loved it and probably is mad that he didn't get to attend.
