Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother & Great-Great-Grandmother
Grandma left this earth to be reunited with her husband and other loved ones in the evening hours of January 30, 2010.
She was born November 26, 1917 in Salt Lake City, UT to Evelyn and Leslie Simpson. She married Wallace E. “Buss” Henstrom on October 5, 1940 in Salt Lake. They were married 55 years before he preceded her death on March 9, 1996. She retired from Dunford’s Bakery after 25 years of service. She was a member of the Utah Daughters of the Pioneers and an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Grandma loved to cook and was always eager to feed her family. She kept her family close by hosting Sunday dinners. She enjoyed bowling and belonged to a women’s league for years. She was a strong and loving woman whose nurturing care will be missed by all of her family.
She is survived by her children Patricia Ann Corder and Susan Cay Carver; grandchildren Debi (Sean) Creger, Cami (John) Mendes, Sean (Maureen) Corder, Travis Carver; five great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother Bill (Sharon) Simpson; and sister-in-law Neldene.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her sister LaRue and brother Leslie.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, February 4th at 12:00 Noon at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Rd., West Jordan. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 3rd from 6:00 until 8:00 PM and Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City.
