Gabriel Lepriest Barnes was born November 14, 1984 in Salt Lake City, UT. He attended Lincoln Elementary School.  He then entered Granite Park Jr. High.  He then attended South High.  Gabriel was a member of New Pilgrim Church where he got baptized. 

Gabriel enjoyed creating music.  He loved to spend time with family and friends. Gabriel was a family oriented man;  he truly cherished his family.  Gabriel was a fun, spirited person who liked to have fun and laugh.  Gabriel was a very precious, caring and loving person.  He will be deeply missed.

Gabriel leaves behind a surviving son, Julian, age 3; mother Sandra Leggroan; father Gary Lee Barnes; sister Sherrielelia Barnes and her five children; sister Santina Barnes and her two children; sister Larisha Barnes and her one child.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 7th at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church, 1090 South State, Salt Lake City, where viewing will begin at 10:00 AM.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to Starks Funeral Parlor. 

A memorial fund has been established at America First Credit Union under “Gabriel L. Barnes.”  Donations are sincerely appreciated.

You will be missed dearly cousin! I remember when me and Mem would come over to visit and we would play guys or basketball. You were always cracking jokes and making us laugh. Im just glad your at peace. I will love and miss you always.

I worked with gabe at Con-way freight. he was a great guy to work with, he was a hard worker, and alwayswilling to go the extra mile to help out anybody that needed it, for the time that i knew him I could tell that he loved his son and his family. You will be greatly missed gabe! My condoleces go to gabes family and friends god bless you all

i have known gabe for over 20 years, he was best friends with my twin brother so i saw alot of him growing up....he will dearly be missed , i saw him two weeks ago, and i had not seen him in years before that, !!! rest in loving peace gabe...love libby

Gabriel , a man of great laughter a man of hope a man of love, you came into this life to give us part of you the joy the tears .However there is one thing that remains the gift of your son that will be here to remind us of you .Gabriel my nephew son of my sister I love you and always will.
