Garabed Arslanian

February 10, 1940 - March 23, 2010

Garbis Arslanian

Our husband, father, dede (grandpa) and brother, Garbis Arslanian passed away on March 23rd, 2010.

He was born on February 10th, 1940 to Krikor and Eliz Arslanian in Beirut, Lebanon.  He married his beautiful wife Khatoune Halwani 39 years ago and together they raised 3 wonderful children.  He started and ended each day with a prayer and praise to God.  At the age of 40, he left everything behind and moved his family, including his parents from Lebanon to the USA.  He didn’t know a word of English or what was to come but knew that his trust in God would lead him to a land of opportunity and a safe place to raise his family.  He loved being an American and his proudest moment came when his second son was born in the USA. He worked in the steel industry for 50 years, others marveled at how he could make welding look like a work of art.

He was very proud of his children and grandchildren, survived by daughter Claire (David) Larson and grandson Andrew; Son Krikor (Jamee) Arslanian and grandsons Jaydon and Jaxon; son Maniel (Lindsay) Arslanian.  His cherished and wonderful wife Khatoune, who has been an amazing wife, mom, and nene (grandma) during his life.  Her quest was to keep his last months as comfortable as they could be.  Mom you are an amazing woman.  Also survived by brothers Harout, Setrak, Jeano and Hagop.

Preceded in death by his parents, brother Hovsep; and sister-in-law Manoushag.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on March 27th at noon at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4501 West 5215 South, Kearns.  Friends and family may pay their respects 2 hours prior to services.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Francis Xavier Church or West Jordan Care Center.

In Loving Memory

When you miss him/her, we're with you in spirit, wondering how you feel, hoping you're coping, and getting a little better each day. We understand. We care. When you're grieving, we're beside you, in our hearts, in our thoughts, we're sending you sympathy, encouragement, affection, and strength to carry on with life. He/she would want it that way.

No one can know just what you've lost;No one can understand the cost; But when you feel your energy drain, Please count on us to help ease your pain.Let us help you cope with grief; We hope with time you'll feel relief. We can't replace the one who's gone, But let our concern help you carry on he's in a better place right now Than he's ever been before; All pain is gone; he's now at rest; Nothing troubles him anymore. It's we who feel the burden of Our sadness and our grief;. We have to cry, to mourn our loss, Before we get relief. We know we'll reconnect with him At the end of each life's road; We'll see his cherished face again When we release our earthly load. may the good lordgive u strength to carry on
