Garin Brent Harada passed away at home on August 23,2026 where he joined his loving parents in heaven. Garin was born in Pocatello, Idaho on August 13, 1970 to Larry Brent and Mikiko Akiyama Harada. In 1980, Larry and Miki moved their family to West Jordan, UT where Garin finished his early schooling. Throughout his schooling, the family still gathered quite often in Idaho. In 1987, Garin spent the summer in Idaho Falls working on a farm. He graduated from West Jordan High School then continued his education at the University of Utah where he received his Bachelors of Science degree in Mining Engineering in 1994.
In 1989, Garin met Ginger Lin Law, and they were married on August 4,1994. They went on to build a family and have three beautiful children together. Garin began working as a mining engineer in the mountains of Utah near Scofield. Throughout his mining career, he gained many friends, bringing him a lifetime of laughs and memories. Garin enjoyed watching his children play sports and later watching them succeed as adults. He loved spending time with his friends and family, playing games, and sitting around a table talking and eating.
Garin is survived by his children Toyono Yuki Harada of Grantsville, Raiden Deto Harada of Magna, and Taiji Fred Harada (Britain) of Santa Clara. Surviving siblings include Brach Harada (Kelly) of Riverton and Mariko Harada of Salt Lake. Also Survived by five Nieces and six nephews. Garin is preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Mikiko Harada, and his sister Caprice.
The scheduled service to gather and celebrate is set for Saturday, September 26, 2026 from 4pm-6pm. Starks Funeral Parlor 3651 S. 900 E., Salt Lake City, Utah 84106. Guests are encouraged to use the parking and entrance on the north side of the building.

Garin Harada professionalized in Mining Engineering and dedicated a large portion of his life understanding anything anyone needed to know about the Mining Industry. “It’s either grown or mined.”-Garin Harada. He worked at several mines throughout Utah and a couple across the United States. He made an impact with every employment and any of his coworkers. Garin was Happiest spending quality time with his family and close friends, especially when sharing a meal. He loved taking small trips to Nevada to enjoy the atmosphere and the food. He was always there to support his loved ones in anything they pursued. He was typically there on the sideline, in the audience, or celebrating with instructors. He wasn’t a man who expressed how he felt with words but he had a way to let everyone know how much he cared just by his presence. His laugh and funny personality made it attractive to just be around him when he wasn’t getting a kick on teasing you.
