Gary Lee Sullenberger
October 13, 1959 - January 10, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce our beloved father, husband, brother, son and friend Gary passed away on January 10th, 2021.
Gary was born on October 13th, 1959 in Orlando Florida to his parents Betty and Jack. Gary was the oldest of their three children. Then 38 years later Gary met the love of his life Viki they soon had their son Ike. Gary was excited to have a son, he was the joy of his life. Gary enjoyed golfing, gardening and really took pride in his work he did, spending time with his friends, watching football and having a beer at the bar. Gary was an excellent cook, he was able to whip anything up. Gary met his best friend Carl 50 years ago he was like a brother to him.
Here are some words from Carl: Gary is very much who I am. Gary you have been with me for 50 years, that is so rare. You always made me laugh so hard that chocolate milk came out of my nose. Gary and I had did so many crazy things like shooting arrows at each other, sliding down the gravel hill on a Volkswagen hood. We would also listen to Led Zeppelin and bob our heads like a couple of dashboard dogs. Gary has always been a great friend and has always been there for me. I'm going to miss him so much, my grief will never go away he is half my soul.
In Loving Memory
Vicky and Ike I can't express my deep sorrow. Gary was more than just a friend. Gary stood up for the little gut all the time just like he did for me 35 years ago. I loved him like a brother and always will. R.I.P. you'll be missed by all !!!

On behalf of myself and everyone at old towne tavern, I would like to offer our sincere condolences! Gary was such a wonderful man and even a better friend. He impacted my life and the life of many others! He was definitely my favorite customer and we shared many laughs together. His passing has left many people in shock and disbelief, that such a vibrant and caring man is gone so soon. He looked out for those he loved and cared for, always assuring those close to him that he was there anytime he was needed. We are going to miss you Gary! May you Rest In Peace . For you may be gone, you will never be forgotten!!

Gary, I miss you, and I know you miss all of us. I'm thankful for our friendship all these years. I know we will see each other again. Your example of "Doing unto others, as you would have them do unto you" is the greatest gift you ever gave me. I know buddy... I haven't perfected that yet, but it's a work in progress. I will also miss getting that "look" we could give each other when something would happen. It said so much, without ever saying a word...still makes me laugh. Forty years of being friends. Thanks for all of it. You fought hard. I'm proud of you. Golf with your Dad until we see you again. Love, Kirk

Viki and Ike I am so sorry for your loss. I've considered Gary my best friend ( and Carl) ever since we started hanging out together in our sophomore year of high school. All through high school we were always together and when we got our drivers licenses I got a 68 GTO and he got a 69 Roadrunner. We raced and raised hell all the time and had so much fun.To this day whenever I would come to town for a visit when we would get together for golf or beer at Old Town Tavern it would be like I never left. Reading Wendy's note also brought back a lot of great memories for sure. I'm going to miss you big guy !!! Rest in peace and hit em long and straight!!

My deepest sympathy to Vicki and Ike! I never met you but have known Gary through my brothers Roger and Eric Schulz! He was a great friend to both of them and I know Eric is going to miss his golfing and drinking buddy! Whenever I came to town I would go have a beer with Eric and get to see Gary! Always a great time! RIP Gary! You will be missed!

We knew Gary for more than thirty years and he was one of the most honorable people we’ve ever known. Proud to have called him friend. Through work, SW and Global , and play, golf, kids and beers he was always a steady influence for us. Many sad but good thoughts. Condolences to Vicki and Ike as well as his many friends and acquaintances.

So grateful that I could think of Gary as an uncle. My dad Kirk has kept a tight circle of friends including Gary and I'm very fortunate to have been around all the craziness. I'll keep working on golf Gary, we'll play again some day. I'll bring the cigars.

I had the honor and privilege of working with Gary from 1998 to 2004 in Salt Lake City. He was and always will be part of our Sherwin Williams Family. I could always count on Gary to tell it like it is. We enjoyed playing golf and discussing world issues over a few beers. Love him like a brother. You will be missed my friend!
