Geneva Maxine Facemyer

February 13, 1938 - August 18, 2023

Geneva Maxine Facemyer, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and cousin, passed away peacefully at home on August 18th, 2023.

She was born February 13th, 1938, in Polk County, Iowa.

She moved around a lot and at age 17 was living in Rapid City South Dakota where she met and married Walter James Facemyer and together they had six children. she and Walter were later divorced.

Geneva subsequently adopted 5 children.

At age 14, Geneva joined the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints. She stayed faithful till the end. She was active in scouting, genealogy and held many positions in the church. Geneva had many jobs including working for the state as a social worker and peer parent. She was a popular substitute teacher; however, she was best known for owning and operating a day care center. She influenced the lives of many children, several that stayed in touch with her all these years.

Geneva was preceded in death by her mother Twyla; Sisters Wanda and Edith; Son Frederick;Granddaughter JoAnna; great granddaughter Faith; nephews Andrew and Craig; Niece’s Cindy and Annette.

She is survived by her 10 children: Tonya, Kim, Doug (Stephanie), David (Kellie), Kelly, Kevin (Karyn), Micah (Shanice), Charlie, Madison and Ashley. 16 Grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, 3 Nieces, 1 nephew and dozens of foster children.

Service will be held in the Ridgecrest building of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 3315 west 5620 south on Saturday August 26th, 2023, at 11:00 am.
