George William Ford, Jr.
December 26, 1945 - December 2, 2018
George passed away at home suddenly on December 2, 2018. George was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to George William Ford, Sr. and Grace Bradley Ford on December 26, 1945. He graduated from Highland High School in 1964. He grew up loving the mountains.
George joined the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was active in the Air Force Medical Field in the Epidemiology Lab where developed a life-long love of Chemistry.
He married his first wife Penny Charlene Parker in Salt Lake City in 1972, later divorced. They had one daughter, Amanda (Matthew Hall). He later married Felecia Panek in 2000. Felecia has two children Amanda James (Michael Dalley) and Daniel (Kendra) Morrow. They considered George a father and grandfather to their children.
George worked for Ballard Medical before working for IVAC Inc. of San Diego, California. George moved back to Utah to return to Ballard Medical then moved to Covol Research.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents. In addiction to his wife and children, he is survived by one sister, Julia Schmidt who resides in Midland, Michigan and numerous cousins.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am Saturday December 8, 2018 at St Vincent dePaul, 1375 East Spring Lane, Salt Lake City. Friends are invited to celebrate his life at a luncheon to follow, also at St Vincent.
