Gerardo Vazquez Ruiz

November 11, 1953 - September 15, 2023

Our beloved father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on September 15, 2023, in Salt Lake City, Utah surrounded by loved ones.

He was born in Yuriria, Guanajuato Mexico to Abel Vazquez and Amalia Ruiz and he married his long-time and eternal love Maria Ramirez for 33 years. Together they raised 5 wonderful children Gerardo, Alejandro, Daniel, Dulce, and Antonio.

Gerardo loved to garden. His garden was a place that he loved to share and embrace with others. It was also a haven for many to ponder and enjoy the fruits of his labor. Gerardo always welcomed everyone and made sure no one left his home on an empty stomach, or thirsty. He graced us with his kind heart and wisdom for 69 years, and although he was not a man of many words, the lessons and advice he did share, came directly from his heart.

Gerardo is survived by his wife Maria, children Gerardo, (Jessica), Alejandro, Daniel, Dulce, (Feliciano), and Antonio. His siblings, Abel, Yolanda, Socorro, Javier, Maria Luisa, Rosa, Roberto, Amalia, and Jose and seven grandchildren. Davannie, Juliano, Jordie, Dante, Rocio, Noah and Steven. He is predeceased by his parents and grandparents.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 S. 900 E. Salt Lake City.
