Gladys Mae Breen

June 29, 1923 - September 18, 2016

Gladys Breen passed away on Sunday, September 18 after 93 years of life.  She was born in Los Angeles, Calif. Gladys served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and later went to college under the GI Bill and received a degree in Economics from the University of Southern California. 

She married William H. Breen, Jr. in New York in 1952 and raised five children.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, John and Clara Topolski, her husband Bill, a son Patrick Breen, and sisters, Jeanne Hansen and Dorothy Topolski.

Gladys is survived by daughters Susan Breen Espinoza (spouse Deacon Sunday) of West Valley City, Utah, Mary Breen of Palmdale, California, sons William H. Breen III and John S. Breen of Pasadena, California, granddaughters Lisa Espinoza Cvetnich (spouse Brad) of Herriman, Utah, Lauren Espinoza of West Valley City, Utah and Linda Espinoza Yates (spouse Brian) of Kaysville, Utah and great grandchildren Riley and Scarlett, who always made her smile. 

Our family would like to thank the wonderful staff and caretakers at Golden Living Assisted Living and Brighton Home Health and Hospice for the loving care given to our mother/grandmother/great-grandmother.

Friends are invited to call upon the family on Thursday, September 22nd from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, where vigil service and recitation of the holy rosary will begin at 7:00 PM.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 23rd at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph the Workder Catholic Church.  Interment to follow at the Utah Veteran's Memorial Park, Bluffdale, UT.
