I had the great pleasure of coaching with Glen Burgess our sons Glen and R.J. and my nephews Mark and Erik during their early years of baseball in the West Jordan Babe Ruth league. Glen was always inspirational to all the boys encouraging them to excel and always play better. A standard every day beginning was for Glen to ask "What are we here for?" the only answer - "to have fun!!" He made practice, game day an experience for the boys to look forward to and I think to play above their heads. We won a lot of games!! Summers were baseball, cheeseburgers and candy from the snack shack prepared by our wives Susan and Libbie for our own little twist of Sandlot. Thank you Glen for who you were, for what you stood for, and for your example for our players and our sons. RIP my friend I will think of you every baseball game I watch and every time I hit a golf ball. Richard and Libbie Lobato
