Glen was fortunate enough to gain a wonderful stepdad Doyle and the family grew from there. Glen grew up in Pomona, Ca where his love for cars grew into what some would call an obsession. Glen loved sports and the outdoors. Which contributed to Glen moving to Utah.  Once he was in Utah he joined the LDS church because of their strong stance on the importance of family. Glen practiced faithfully until lives obligations kept him away from home for periods at a time.  He never stopped believing in the ways of the gospel however, although he quit attending church years ago.  Glen was highly involved in the community and sports where he was a positive influence on countless young lives and cherished all the memories he had at the ballfield.

We would like to extent a special thank you to Peggy with Brightstar Care and whomever else has helped Glen these last few years as he struggled to feel like a man because of his limited capabilities. As well as Orin and Bill for the friendship and countless games of golf you shared. He loved playing the WII and forgetting for a moment his body was abandoning him.

I had the great pleasure of coaching with Glen Burgess our sons Glen and R.J. and my nephews Mark and Erik during their early years of baseball in the West Jordan Babe Ruth league.  Glen was always inspirational to all the boys encouraging them to excel and always play better.  A standard every day beginning was for Glen to ask "What are we here for?"  the only answer - "to have fun!!" He made practice, game day an experience for the boys to look forward to and I think to play above their heads.  We won a lot of games!!  Summers were baseball, cheeseburgers and candy from the snack shack prepared by our wives Susan and Libbie for our own little twist of Sandlot.  Thank you Glen for who you were, for what you stood for, and for your example for our players and our sons.  RIP my friend I will think of you every baseball game I watch and every time I hit a golf ball.  Richard and Libbie Lobato
