Golda LaRee Leonard
March 14, 1937 - January 26, 2025
Our dear mother, Golda Leonard, sadly passed away on January 26, 2025. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her most. She will be remembered for offering great support, wisdom, and love.
Golda was born on March 14, 1937 in Consumers, Utah to Golden and Mary Day. At the age of 18, she met the love of her life, Robert B. Leonard, in Price, Utah. After much flirting Bob talked her into their first date on New Year’s Eve. They were married on June 2nd, 1956 and were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. They celebrated 59 wonderful years together.
The joys in her life were her husband, daughters, grandchildren, and family. We know there is a great reunion taking place with her brother, Kenneth Day, who passed away at a younger age. She missed so many years with him as she grew up.
Golda had a personality like no one else; she left a lasting impact on every person she ever met. She was blessed with many creative talents including ceramics, cooking, oil painting, and had an eye for design. Every event she planned was exquisite from start to finish. She had a love of music with a great passion for opera. She loved to travel. Her favorite trips were to the cabin, visiting her St. George home, and adventures in their motor home. Golda and Bob traveled most parts of the world and were blessed with many unique experiences and friends that lasted a lifetime.
Golda is survived by her daughters, Lori (Chris) Clawson, Lana (Doug) Emery, grandchildren Barclay (Lindsay), Brantley (Kim), Braxton, Brock (Andi), James (Jessica), Robert (Alyssa), and many great grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Robert B. Leonard, parents Golden and Mary Day and brother, Kenneth Day.
Our family would like to give special thanks to the CNAs at Spring Gardens Assisted Living and Inspiration Health and Hospice for the wonderful care they gave our mother.
Friends are invited to a celebration of life on Tuesday, February 4th from 6 to 8 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Millcreek. Golda had a personality that one wanted to be around. I've never known a more creative person in her cooking, decorating and even in giving gifts. She was a thoughtful person and fun to be around. She always made me feel welcome in the Leonard family. Love to Lana and Lori and their families. Marsha Bjornn
