H. Brent Lingos
January 5, 1940 - February 4, 2023
Helen Brent Lingos was born on January 5, 1940 to Peggy and Brent Knowlden in Salt Lake City, Utah. Family moved to Price, Utah where Brent attended Notre Dame Catholic School K-12 and was a cheerleader from her freshman year through her senior year. She was definitely a social butterfly.
She married Jim Lingos in 1961 in the Greek Orthodox church and they spent 49 years together. They had two daughters Liz (Dee) Shirts and Faye. Over the years Jim and Brent traveled to every corner of the world. Brent worked for General Motors Corporation for the first 14 years of their marriage.
Brent is survived by her siblings Jane (Scott) Jarvis, Debbie (Phil) Nadeau and sister-in-law Jamie. She is preceded in death by her brother, Terry.
Known as Yia Yia, her grandchildren were her constant source of pride: Brooke (Dan) Mayberry, Demetri (Jacqui) Shirts, Topher (Frances) Clark, Katie (Warren) Stark and Alizabeth (Matthew) Chaus. She adored her nine great-grandchildren and a visit from them always made her day: Macy, Jaden, Mikaela, Everly, Evan, Rex, Shay, Kahlia and Thaio. She also had several nieces and nephews who she dearly loved.
Brent’s daughter, Faye, passed away in 2006 and in 2011 she lost Jim. She moved to the Cedarwood community one month later where she happily lived for twelve years and where she passed away on February 4, 2023.
Her daughter, Liz (Dee) would like to thank the Cedarwood community: Marva and Mary Jean and Brent were the three musketeers; Ula, who kept her as beautiful on the outside as she was on the inside; Brittany, Denise and Austin and the entire staff and friends who helped her feel loved and cared for.
A memorial gathering will be held for family and friends on Monday, February 20, 2023 from 6:00 until 8:00 in the evening at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Guests are encouraged to use the parking and entrance located on the north side of the building. The family will have a private graveside service on February 21st at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Mom, you will be missed. I’ll see you on the other side.

Hi Liz. I am so sad to hear I missed your dear mothers funeral. I love these pictures. I am so sorry for your loss. I really loved Brent and your family. Wish we were closer. I wish we could go back to the days of sleepovers and summers playing at your house. I really cherish those days.
