Harold Lee Ventura

December 12, 1922 - May 14, 2009

Harold Lee Ventura passed away May 14, 2009 after a life filled with enjoyment and happiness.   He was extremely charming, witty, always exciting and loved his family and close friends unconditionally.

He was born in Grand Junction, Colorado on December 12, 1922 to Benjamin and Assunta Ventura. On July 8, 1945 Harold married Dorothy Perry, the love of his life and best friend for more than 60 years. Mom often referred to our father as “Frankie” because Dad insisted on doing things “My Way” however, there was little doubt who really wore the pants in the family.

Harold was employed in varied capacities including ownership of a grocery store and a draftsman. He subsequently found his niche as a salesperson for the Brotherhood Relief and Compensation Fund and eventually rose to the position of Secretary Treasurer of the corporation.

Harold and Dorothy lived a life that people dream of, traveling extensively with their children and close friends. Vacations to Europe, numerous cruises and trips to many wonderful and exciting places in our own country made priceless memories.  Besides spending time with his wife and traveling, Dad’s favorite activities were golfing, fishing and rooting for the Colorado Rockies and the Utah Jazz.  They were snowbirds after retirement residing in Palm Springs and Lake Havasu for almost two decades.  Mom preceded our Papa in death almost four years ago and Dad’s passion for life was never the same.

He is survived by his son, Vincent; daughter Victoria; granddaughters Tiffany and Carlee Ventura; great-grandchildren Victoria Rose and Jeremy Vail; in addition to many other family members and friends.

Friends may call upon the family at a wake and viewing at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South, 900 East in Salt Lake City on May 22, 2009 from 7pm to 9pm. Funeral Services & Eulogy will commence on Saturday, May 23rd at 10:00 AM at St Therese Catholic Church Hall at 7832 So. Allen St. in Midvale, where viewing will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment to follow at Midvale City Cemetery, 450 West 7500 South.  Arrangements entrusted to Starks Funeral Parlor.

We know you can hear us loud and clear now, Papa. We love you and we miss you.

In Loving Memory

I remember Dorothy and Harold and "the gang". They both were always wonderful with my parents. Harold came to my dad's funeral last year, I so appreciated that. He was a wonderful man! I miss all of them... Much love to all your family. Paula Loboschefsky(Paula Pazell)

We have been through many things together, family deaths, marriages, serious illness's, with work being the least of these. We will never forget you being there for us when you were needed.PLEASE let us know if we can do anything for you! God bless you and your family!
