Harry Francis Sellers Jr.

July 1, 1937 - November 8, 2011

Harry Sellers

Artist

“I traveled the world to find things worth putting on paper, and put things on paper so I could travel the world.”

The best dad and husband in the world passed away like he lived his life: spontaneously and presently on November 8, 2011.

He was born in the Wild West in Rock Springs, Wyoming on July 1, 1937 to Harry and Reba Sellers.  Harry was a bigger than life, fabulous artist who created tiny, tiny paintings. Harry was brilliant and never failed to share his talents with his friends.  He was a map-maker extraordinaire however his navigation required reading between the lines and never failed to lead us astray to the most beautiful places.

He lived life to the fullest, camping and traveling and was a great connoisseur of the unappreciated gifts that life gives.

He is survived by his adoring wife, Patrice; his three beautiful daughters whom he treasured above all Tanya (Charlie) Pack, Kerri (Jerry) Higley, Frankie Sellers; grandchildren Toby (Jess), Ty, Tara (Gareth), Travis, Tasha; great-grandchildren Kayli, Kallum, Mason; siblings Ruth (Keith) Sines, James (Betty) Sellers; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Harry’s life at Starks Funeral Parlor on Friday, November 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, 3651 South 900 East.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 12th at 11:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1375 East Spring Lane.

In Loving Memory

We are devastated to learn of Harry's passing. I am so glad I was able to see him and Frankie on Friday, Nov. 4 and on the 5th. I will remember Cuz Harry and all the things we did together growing up. I will miss his "pop-in" visits when he had time. CRUSHED is the only word that comes to mind to describe how we feel today. Harry was a free and generous spirit who absolutely defied words; a kinder soul has never graced this world. Our deepest condolences to Patrice and Frankie and all of the extended family. May you find solace in remembrance of the joy you shared with Harry. Know that we will think of him fondly for all time as his art fills our home. We will be there for you Patrice and you Frankie with love and compassion!

This is way too soon. Harry's painting was improving, if you can imagine that. He had not yet reached his peak He still had years to go; he was still young. Its not fair. He still had beer to drink, songs to sing, barns and outhouses and mountains and wrecked trucks to paint. The world is now a smaller place.

Dear Tanya and Charlie: We were so sorry to read of Harry's passing. We love the painting we have of his in our family room. He was an incredibly talented artist. He still had more paintings in his heart to complete so it is the world's loss to have him gone so early in his work. We know you adored him. May God bless you with strength and comfort in your loss.
