Helen M. (Murphy) Good
June 12, 1936 - July 18, 2025
Helen M. (Murphy) Good, 89, passed from this world to the next on July 18, 2025 in Draper, Utah and is finally at peace. Born June 12, 1936 to Joseph and Helen (Donahue) Murphy in Philadelphia, PA; Helen was sister to William, Theresa, Joseph, James and Barbara Murphy. She married George Good February 12, 1955 and they raised 7 children together. Helen and George moved to Lander, Wyoming in June of 1969 with their family of 9; here they became Lander businesspeople running Good’s Conoco at 2nd and Main Street and then purchased the Kerr Building and opened The Good Place. In the beginning The Good Place was an automotive repair shop but later, Helen and George changed this to a hunting and sporting goods store. Many hunters and anglers were regular customers. Helen and George moved to the Salt Lake City area after retirement to be closer to family.
Helen was a devout Catholic and a member of Holy Rosary’s Catholic Church Ladies Altar Society, she taught CCD, was a Eucharistic Minister and later went on to be a very early volunteer for the Wyoming Catholic College. Helen lived in Lander for 45 years.
Helen is Mother of 7 children: surviving her are Helen (Larry) LaRose of Lander; Susan (Delbert)
McOmie of Cheyenne; David (Karen) Good of Lander, Dot (Jeff) Stefanich of Cottonwood Heights,
Utah; Diane (Jeff) Olsen of Fremont, Utah; Lisa (Matt) Radke of South Jordan, Utah; her dearly loved sister and life long friend Barbara Walsh of Philadelphia, many beloved nieces and nephews and untold numbers of close friends. Helen is the Grandmother of 15 and Great grandmother of 24.
Passing before Helen are her husband George, her parents, 4 siblings and her son Daniel Good, all of whom she spoke of joining someday in heaven.
Funeral Mass is at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on August 30, 2025 at 11 a.m. with interment at Mount Hope Cemetery immediately following. Helen will be laid to rest next to her husband George.
