Jack Draper Hansen

June 21, 1926 - December 2, 2021

Jack Draper Hansen, age 95, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021, at his home with his loving wife, Thea, at his side.

Born on June 21, 1926, to Catherine Draper and Waldo “Jimmy” Hansen. Jack grew up under The Horse Shoe in Spring City, Utah. He honorably carried his birthplace and heritage throughout his life often sharing his fondest memories with his family. He was proud of his experiences as a sheepherder, horsebreaker, bronc and bull rider, coal miner, military service, and CPA from which he retired at age 92.

Jack served in the Merchant Marines in 1944 and then seven years in the U.S. Army Counterintelligence Unit, 1st Division. His military experience led him to Germany in December of 1949 where Jack met Theresia “Thea” Marschick. They wed in Regensburg, Germany in 1952. Together they raised three children. 

Jack was preceded in death by his parents including his stepmother Dorothy; sister Bonnie (Everett “Micky”) Isaacson; and brothers Waldo “Toy” (Connie), Scott (Joyce), Delno Rostron (Deanna), and Roy “Tut” (Verene) Rostron. 

He leaves behind his beloved wife and children Paul (Joy), Robert (Lynnette), and Jeannette (Fariborz) Rejali; sisters Erlene (Alma) Johnson and Gail (Joe) Trlica; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; cousins; and friends.

A celebration of Jack’s life will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021, between 6:00-8:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor (3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, Utah 84106).
