Jaclyn Mitchell Kuhn
January 22, 1961 - January 5, 2011
Jaclyn Mitchell Kuhn
“Jacki”
Jaclyn (Jacki) Mitchell Kuhn, age 49, passed away at home in her sleep and returned to her Heavenly Father on January 5, 2011. She had been struggling with several health issues for the past 7 months and didn’t have enough strength and energy left to continue the battle. She leaves behind her two beautiful daughters Jerzy Mitchell and Taylour Kuhn, her parents Don and Barbara Warner and Don Mitchell, sister Nicole Johnson, brother Tom Mitchell, and step-brother Gary (Koralee) Warner. Extended family: Waylon and Shantae Potter, Sonny, Sage, and Bo Warner, Doug Bollschweiler, Mackenzie, Scout, Bailey and Bella Johnson. Preceded in death by her grandma and grandpa Harmison.
Jacki was born on January 22, 1961 to Barbara (Mitchell) Warner and Don Mitchell in Pocatello, ID. Her parents divorced when she was two years old. From the age of six she was raised in Pocatello area by her mother and step-father, Don Warner. She graduated from Pocatello High School and pursued a career in Artistic Hair and Make-up Design in the Salt Lake City area, where she worked in many salons in the Salt Lake valley, Jacki felt her name didn’t have enough flair to it, so she decided to use the name Jaclyn, the name most of her friends knew her as. But to her family she was always Jacki (or Jake as her dad called her).
Jacki married Kevin Kuhn in 1989. They later were divorce, but remained close friends throughout the ensuing years until her passing. Taylour was born to that union. But Kevin has always been a dad to both Jerzy and Taylour. However through most of Jacki’s life, she has been a single mom.
Art has always been a prominent part of her life and was evident as early as the third grade where she was awarded “best creative artist” for a book cover. Jacki had over thirty years experience in the hair and make-up industry, including working for AVEDA as their Educator in Hair Design. Skin Care and Color Cosmetics Specialist; and traveled the western region with the creator and founder of AVEDA products. She always said she had the best of two worlds, being able to express herself with client’s hair and make-up design by day and doing her painting in the night time hours. Over the years Jacki has had her art displayed at Stein Eriksson Lodge, Park City Art Festival, and the Salt Lake Dickens Festival. She loved all aspects of creativity, being diverse in watercolor, acrylics, wood and fabric. Jacki was also very proficient in snow and water skiing and loved camping with her friends and family.
She continually expressed her love to her parents for the unconditional love, support and encouragement that they gave her to be the best that she could be. However the real source of her love went to her two cherished daughters Jerzy and Taylour. She said they taught her to be a kid and helped her with all her crazy ideas. She will be dearly missed by her family.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday January 10, 2011 at the LDS ward building located at 1750 Spring Lane (approximately 5200 South). A gathering and visitation will be held at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, UT Sunday evening from 6 to 8 PM and 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Interment at Elysian Burial Gardens.

I met Jacki after high school through mutual friends. I remember when she was pregnant with Jerzey and having a baby shower for her. Jacki had so much spunk and I always admired her strength. She went through a lot in her short llife. She will be deeply missed.
