Jacqueline Marie Steiwer Kelleher

August 8, 1934 - August 11, 2012

Jacqueline Marie Steiwer Kelleher, 78, of West Valley City, Utah, died August 11, 2012, at home with her husband and family.

She was born August 8, 1934, in St. Anthony, ID to Robert Leland Steiwer and Marguerite Reid. She was raised by and loved her stepfather, Donald Anthony Bambenek.

She graduated in 1951 from Weber High School and attended St. Benedict's School of Nursing. On September 23, 1955 she married Robert Patrick Kelleher.
Jackie loved to read, play word games, engage in impassioned political conversations and spoil her dogs. Nicknamed "The Commander" because of her central role in the family, she made everyone who came into the house feel welcome.

She is survived by her husband Robert; children: Robert (Sheri), Michael (Joci), Julie (Jeff) Knudson, Thomas (Eileen) and Don; grandchildren: Jennifer, Robbie, and Patrick Kelleher; Katie Knudson; Elizabeth and Amy Kelleher; Ian and Ethan Kelleher; brothers, Donald Anthony Bambenek II and James Steiwer, and sisters, Rose Marie Guthrie, Dorothy Wright Avila, and Bridget Aldaraca. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, stepfather, twin sons John and Paul, and her sisters Simone Galberth, Mary Jane Knight and Katherine Schafer.

A wake will be held on Wednesday, August 15th from 6 to 8 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 16th at 11:00 AM at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 3560 West 3650 South, West Valley City. Interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Ave. "T" Street, Salt Lake City.
