Jake Christopher Bogdanich
July 6, 1989 - January 4, 2025
Our dear Jake passed away on January 4, 2025, in Oklahoma City, OK.
He was born on July 6, 1989, in Salt Lake City, UT. Growing up in Utah, Jake developed a love for horseback riding and competitive soccer, both of which were central to his childhood. After graduating from Park City High School in 2007, Jake moved to Texas to pursue his interest in engineering. In 2013, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Tyler. Shortly after, he began a successful career in the Oil & Gas Industry, where he earned the high regard of his colleagues and peers. In 2021, he furthered his education by earning a Master’s in Business from the University of Oklahoma.
Outside of his career, Jake stayed connected to his love for soccer, playing in intramural leagues and volunteering as a kids’ soccer coach. He also discovered a passion for photography, blending his self-discipline, planning skills, and patience to capture breathtaking images. Whether scaling steep hillsides in Iceland for the perfect shot or enduring long nights under the stars to photograph the full moon, Jake approached photography with the same dedication he brought to every aspect of his life.
Jake worked so hard to be successful at everything he did. He earned so many achievements in life but was never one to self-promote or brag.
In his final chapter, Jake found profound love. He moved back to Oklahoma City from Houston to be with his partner and her two boys, embracing their love story that was cut far too short.
Jake leaves behind a heartbroken family: his parents, John and Ann Bogdanich; his siblings, Patrick Bogdanich, Jessica Skorut (Mike), and Gina Bogdanich (Nik Garff); nine adoring nieces and nephews, as well as cousins, aunts, uncles, colleagues, and friends who will all tell you that Jake made a lasting, positive impact on their lives. He was one of the good ones—the kind of person everyone hates to see go.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Dusti Snaith (Brian).
Jake’s spirit, kindness, and passion will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His family will always admire his determination, talent, and love of learning. We will never stop missing him.
Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday, January 18, 2024 from 5-7 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Guests are encouraged to use parking and entrance located on the north side of the building.
He will be laid to rest in a private family service.

In Loving Memory
For dear Jake - from Our Family to Yours: “May the road rise up to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face, May the rains fall soft upon your fields, Until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand.” ~ Irish Blessing Gael Duffy and Tom Hill Family
