Jim passed away at home with his loving, devoted dog, George at his side.
He was born September 18, 1933 in Salt Lake City, UT. Raised by parents Louise T. and Frank G. Hewett, he was a loving and guiding big brother to siblings Thomas and Sara. On March 20, 1958 he married Susan Kirkpatrick. He was heartbroken when she recently passed away December 30, 2006. Jim graduated from West High School and the University of Utah. His career was as a draftsman. He designed environmental equipment, finally taking a hard earned and highly respected retirement from Mallory Engineering.
In addition to his wife of 49 years, he is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his son Lyle T., brother Thomas (Angela), sister Sara (Carl) Osborne, sisters-in-law Phyllis (Stephen) Shores and Nancy Kirkpatrick, and nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call upon the family on Thursday, September 4th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Graveside Service will be held on Friday, September 5th at 11:00 at Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 “N” Street.
